LEGAZPI CITY- The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V has trained approximately 200 small scale mineral operators in Aroroy, Masbate last June 14-15, 2022 in Tico Maristela Sports Complex, Aroroy, Masbate.

The topics that were discussed during the training includes “Salient features of Republic Act 7942 otherwise known as the Philippine Mining Act of 1995, Small Scale Mine Safety Rules and Regulations, Environmental Laws, Ecological Waste Management Act of 2000, and Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act of 7076 otherwise known as the People’s Small Scale Mining Act of 1991”.

The training was spearheaded by technical personnel coming from the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division, Mine Management Division of MGB R.O.-V and Environmental Management Bureau-V. The activity is in line with the intensive dissemination of the DAO-2015-03, implementing the provisions of RA 7076, otherwise known as the “People’s Small-Scale Mining Act of 1991”.
