Mining engineers from different companies and agencies, including those from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V), gathered virtually on October 8 and 9, 2021 to join the 6th Mining Engineers’ Convention 2021 (MINECON 2021).
This biennial event officially started with a series of technical symposia and audio-visual presentations on best practices for responsible mining by different operating mining companies.
This year’s theme: “Mineral Development – Key to Economic Recovery of the Country”, is in line with the signing of Executive Order no. 130, the lifting of the nine-year moratorium on new mineral agreements in the country: a bid to help in economic recovery amid Covid-19 pandemic.
