Every 3rd week of September, the world celebrates and participates in the International Coastal Clean Up day, known as the largest volunteer effort for ocean health in order to get rid of trash and to raise environmental awareness.
 
With this year’s theme: “Understand and Beat Marine Pollution”, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) headed by RD Guillermo A. Molina, Jr. IV participated the annual gathering for the ocean along the coastline of Barangay Rawis, Legazpi City on September 18, 2021.
 
The collected garbage were properly segregated and were collected through the Barangay Material Recovery Facilities. A total of eleven (11) bags or approximately 33 kilos of waste materials contained of plastic wrappers, sanitary napkin, plastic bottles, diapers, plastic containers, and face masks were gathered.
