RD Guillermo A. Molina, Jr. IV of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region V joined the simultaneous Launching of Bamboo Planting Activity in Barangay Panoypoyan, Bula, Camarines Sur last February 9, 2020. The activity was also done in the different Provinces in the Region, to wit: Barangay Tuaca, Basud in Camarines Norte; Barangay Balinad, Polangui in Albay; and Baranagy Marambag, San Andres in Catanduanes from February 9-12, 2021 with the goal to plant 10,000 bamboo culms.

This initiative is in line with the implementation of the Riverbank Stabilization activities under Key Result Area (KRA) 6: Intensified Watershed Management where the DENR is the Chairman. The Bamboo planting activities aim to help mitigate the impacts of flooding, assist in the arrest and minimization of siltation, improve biodiversity, and provide alternative source of livelihood for the communities.

The said activity was also participated by selected MGB R.O.-V employees.

This is pursuant to Executive Order (EO) 120 or the Strengthening Rehabilitation and Recovery Efforts in Typhoon-Hit Area through the creation of Build Back Better Task Force signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte last November 18, 2020.
