The month of June was declared by then President Corazon C. Aquino as the Philippine Environmental Month by virtue of Presidential Proclamation no. 237 signed in April 1988. Consistent with the said proclamation, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) shall launch series of activities in celebration of the environment Month with the theme: “Beat Air Pollution” which emphasizes as one of the causes that threatens biodiversity and human survival as the presence of harmful chemicals in the air we breathe could hamper one’s good health.

To kick-off the Environment Month Celebration, OIC, Regional Director Guillermo A. Molina, Jr. IV thru Ms. Arlene E. Dayao, Chief Geologist joined the DENR-V Media Press Conference last June 4, 2019 in Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant to answer pressing issues encountered by MGB R.O.-V and further to enlighten members of the media as well as other stakeholders on the mandate, plans, programs and activities of the Bureau.

To drumbeat the celebration, some of the activities include Environmental Exhibit at Robinsons Naga on June 17-19; Radio guesting in DZGB on June 20; Simultaneous River Clean-up on June 22; Arbor Day in Camalig, Albay on June 25; IEC symposium in Ayala Malls Activity Center on June 26; and Saringgaya Awards at Casa Blanca Hotel on June 29. These activities aim to specifically inform and engage the stakeholder for the promotion of the positive image of Philippine Mining Industry.
