One of the features of People’s Small Scale Mining Program of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau is to extend technical services to small scale miners and to encourage the adoption of best practices in small scale industry particularly in underground mine safety, basic occupational safety and health environmental awareness. The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) has conducted a small scale mining seminar for small scale miners of Casalugan, Paracale, Camrines Norte on January 17, 2019 at the Brgy. Casalugan Plaza.

The said seminar seeks to help miners minimize health and environment hazards and improve safety and healthy working conditions in small scale mines. This effort is one way of reaching out stakeholders on the ground through information education campaign of the amended Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 7076, otherwise known as the People’s Small Scale Mining Act of 1991.
