The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) conducted an Orientation Seminar for barangay officials, small scale miners and Minahang Bayan applicants of Brgy. Luklukan Sur, Jose Panganiban, Brgy. Dumagmang, Labo and Brgy. Malaya, Labo in the Province of Camarines Norte on March 26-27 and April 18-21, 2018 to carry out the declaration policy of the R.A. 7076, otherwise known as “People’s Small Scale Mining Act of 1991”.

The two (2) day training is aimed to help the small scale mining industry eliminate mine accidents, minimize health and environment hazards, and promote/improve safety and healthy working conditions in small scale mines and for a more informed small scale miners in the Province.

 

 

 

 

This is in an effort of the Office to reach out stakeholders on the ground through the dissemination of the Amended Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 7076, otherwise known as the People’s Small Scale Mining Act of 1991. MGB R.O.-V Technical personnel were tasked as resource speakers on concerned topics for discussion.

As one of the features of People’s Small Scale Mining Program of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau is to extend technical services to small scale miners to encourage the adoption of best practices in small scale industry particularly in underground mine safety, basic occupational safety and health environmental awareness.
