The month of June every year is declared “Philippine Environment Month” by virtue of Presidential Proclamation no. 237 signed in 1998 by then President Corazon C. Aquino.

Consistent with Proclamation no. 237 s. 1998, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB R.O.-V) shall launch series of activities in celebration of the Environment Month with the theme “Connecting People to Nature” which implores us to get outdoors and into nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance, and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that we share.

MGB R.O.-V OIC, Regional Director Guillermo A. Molina, Jr. IV joined the ribbon cutting ceremony last June 5, 2017 to open a two-day Environmental Exhibit/Fair in Ayala Mall, Legazpi City. RD Molina, in his message, left everyone a reminder: “To preserve and protect our environment is a commitment everyone must fulfill”.

To drumbeat the celebration, some of the activities include tree planting activities, information campaign, radio guesting, mining exhibit, and symposium which aim to specifically inform and engage stakeholders for the promotion of the positive image of Philippine Mining Industry.
