The 65th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) was held last November 20 to 23, 2018 in Cap-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Baguio City attended by Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. V (MGB ROV) technical personnel from the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division (MSESDD) and Mine Management Division (MMD).
The Major activities during the ANMSEC were the 6th Community Relations Officer Conference, Mineral Industry Symposium and the Mine Safety Field Demonstration and Field Competition. The 6th Community Relation Officer Conference aims to update on new policies and trends regarding community relation. The Mineral Industry Symposium discussed the status, challenges and direction of the Philippine Mining Industry.
During the last day of the event, the Mine Safety Field Demonstration and Field Competition was conducted where technical personnel from the MGB ROV participated as judges in the activity. Mining companies from all over the nation compete in events such as first aid competition, machine drilling, hand mucking, fire fighting and tag of peace.
The ANMSEC is a continuous celebration which highlights the significant partnership of the mining industry, government and other stakeholders towards sustainable development.
